Overview
Little Lions Learning Center is seeking a passionate, nurturing, and dedicated Preschool Teacher to join our team. You will play a crucial role in providing a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for the children in our care, ranging from 3 to 5 years old. Our ideal candidate is committed to the well-being and early development of young learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Instruction & Planning:
- Implement a prescribed curriculum effectively, adapting lessons to meet the diverse learning needs and styles of all students.
- Develop daily and weekly lesson plans that integrate core subjects (literacy, math, science, and social-emotional development) and align with learning objectives.
- Create a stimulating and safe classroom environment conducive to active learning and exploration.
- Kindergarten Readiness:
- Focus instruction on pre-literacy and pre-numeracy skills essential for kindergarten success (e.g., letter recognition, phonological awareness, counting, and shape identification).
- Conduct ongoing formal and informal assessments of student progress to identify areas of strength and areas needing additional support.
- Maintain detailed records of student development and use data to differentiate instruction and create individual learning goals
- Classroom Management & Student Development:
- Establish and maintain positive classroom management techniques that promote self-regulation, respect, and collaboration among students.
- Facilitate social-emotional growth by teaching conflict resolution skills and encouraging cooperative play.
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children, adhering to all licensing and school standards.
- Communication & Collaboration:
- Maintain open and consistent communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress, classroom activities, and kindergarten readiness benchmarks.
- Participate actively in parent-teacher conferences, staff meetings, and professional development training.
- Collaborate with the lead/assistant teacher and other staff members to ensure a cohesive and high-quality educational program.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child Development, or a related field (Required).
- Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience teaching in a licensed preschool or early childhood setting.
- Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to teach a structured curriculum effectively.
- Strong knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for teaching young children.
- Requirements:
- Must meet all state and local requirements for background checks and health screenings.
- Current certification in CPR and First Aid (or willingness to obtain).
Job Type: Full-time
Base Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
