Preschool Teacher

The Chalkboard Preschool is seeking dedicated and passionate educators to fill two exciting roles: a Full-Time Preschool Teacher and a Half-Day Preschool Teacher. In either role, you will play a pivotal part in fostering a nurturing and enriching environment where young minds can flourish. You will be responsible for implementing a dynamic curriculum that encourages holistic development and cultivates a love for learning among our students.

Full-Time Preschool Teacher

As a Full-Time Preschool Teacher, you will engage with children on a daily basis, driving the curriculum's implementation, and shaping their formative years with your expertise and compassion.

Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement innovative lesson plans aligned with The Chalkboard's play-based curriculum.

- Create a safe and inclusive learning environment that supports all aspects of children's development: physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and language.

- Conduct regular assessments to monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies as needed.

- Collaborate closely with parents and caregivers to address each child's unique educational needs.

- Incorporate activities suitable for diverse developmental stages, including those requiring special attention.

- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere that inspires curiosity, creativity, and exploration.

- Engage in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and parent workshops to enhance your teaching practices.

Skills:

- Proficient in standardized testing procedures for early childhood education.

- Prior experience in working with young children in a classroom setting.

- Strong background in literacy education tailored for preschool-aged children.

- Familiarity with child welfare principles and practices.

- Ability to create effective lesson plans that cater to individual student needs.

- Experience in toddler care or similar childcare settings.

- Knowledge of Montessori or other progressive teaching methodologies.

- Understanding of early intervention strategies for young learners.

- Competence in math concepts relevant to preschool

Half-Day Preschool Teacher

As a Half-Day Preschool Teacher, you will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact within a shorter timeframe, engaging young learners with focused and enriching educational experiences.

Responsibilities:

- Design and deliver engaging lesson plans that resonate with The Chalkboard's play-based philosophy.

- Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment conducive to children's growth across multiple domains.

- Regularly assess student progress to tailor your teaching methods effectively.

- Partner with parents and caregivers to ensure the best support for each child’s educational journey.

- Implement diverse activities that accommodate various developmental needs, particularly for those needing specialized attention.

- Create an inviting and enthusiastic classroom atmosphere that encourages imagination and inquiry.

- Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities to continuously improve teaching practices.

Skills:

- Two years of experience in early childhood education, especially with younger students.

- Strong foundation in literacy education for preschool-age children.

- Knowledgeable about principles of child welfare and developmental psychology.

- Capable of tailoring lesson plans to suit individual learning styles and needs.

- Background working with toddlers and in childcare settings.

- Familiarity with progressive teaching approaches like Montessori is preferred.

- Understanding of early intervention strategies for young learners.

- Competency in basic math concepts appropriate for preschool education.
