Longfellow Wellesley is seeking a passionate and dedicated EEC Certified Preschool Teacher to inspire and nurture young learners in their early childhood development journey. Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that promote literacy education, math skills, physical education, and social-emotional growth.
- Create a stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and learning through play.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively using positive reinforcement techniques to foster a respectful and inclusive atmosphere.
- Plan and execute engaging lesson plans tailored to individual student needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention support.
- Monitor and assess children’s progress regularly, utilizing standardized testing methods when appropriate to inform instruction.
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other educational professionals to support each child's development and welfare.
- Ensure compliance with childcare regulations, health and safety standards, and best practices in early childhood education.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early intervention strategies.
- Experience in curriculum development tailored for preschool-aged children, including toddlers and those in daycare or private school settings.
- Proficiency in classroom management techniques to maintain an organized and nurturing learning environment.
- Skilled in working with children of diverse backgrounds, including those with special needs or requiring additional support.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Familiarity with Montessori methods or other educational philosophies such as literacy education or teaching physical education is a plus.
- Ability to plan lessons effectively for various subjects including math, literacy, and social skills while integrating child welfare practices.
