Jack and Jill Preschool is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Preschool Teacher to join our team. This teacher will facilitate and nurture children's interactions within a mixed-age preschool classroom while creating a warm, welcoming environment where every child feels safe, valued, and encouraged to learn. The successful candidate will become part of a small, close-knit team of educators who value collaboration, professional growth, and building meaningful relationships with children and families.

The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Be available to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM–2:30 PM.
- Have a strong understanding of child development and the developmental needs of young children.
- Be able to engage children in meaningful learning experiences and positively redirect behavior.
- Demonstrate a passion for working with young children and their families.
- Be self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Enjoy working as part of a small, collaborative team of educators where flexibility, communication, and mutual support are highly valued.
- Possess strong interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Feel comfortable meeting the needs of children in a mixed-age classroom.
- Approach children with warmth, patience, and respect.
- Demonstrate curiosity, flexibility, creativity, and a willingness to learn.
- Balance intentional lesson planning with the ability to follow the interests and ideas of the children.
Responsibilities
- Teach and supervise children in preschool classrooms.
- Support the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of each child.
- Build positive and respectful relationships with children and families.
- Observe children to understand their development and inform curriculum planning.
- Develop and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
- Foster a classroom culture of play, problem-solving, collaboration, and curiosity.
- Document children's learning and communicate regularly with families.
- Maintain classroom materials, supplies, and learning environments.
- Conduct child assessments and prepare progress reports.
- Participate in family-teacher conferences.
- Attend monthly staff meetings and school-wide professional development opportunities.
- Follow all EEC regulations, school policies, and health and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children ages 2.5–6 years old.
- Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while maintaining flexibility and professionalism.
- Commitment to reflective practice and ongoing professional growth.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- EEC Preschool Teacher Certification preferred.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire.
Schedule
Part-Time School Year Position
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–2:30 PM
This position follows the Jack and Jill Preschool academic calendar and includes school vacations and holidays aligned with the Attleboro Public Schools calendar.
Additional hours may be required for:
- Staff meetings
- Family-teacher conferences
- Professional development days
- School events and family programs
Compensation
Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
