Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young learners. This role involves implementing engaging lesson plans, promoting child welfare, and supporting the developmental needs of children aged 2.5 to 5 years.
Duties
- Collaborate with other teachers to develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with early childhood education standards.
- Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
- Foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through hands-on activities and play-based learning.
- Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to support children's learning at home.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Provide individualized support for students with diverse learning and behavioral needs.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.
- Experience working with preschool-aged children in a private school setting is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with the Virginia Department of Education Standards is a plus.
- Strong skills in preschool instruction and toddler care are advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
- A genuine passion for child welfare and the ability to create positive relationships with children.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred but not required at the time of hire as we will provide that training before the school year begins.
