Job Summary

We are seeking a caring, energetic Preschool Teacher who brings both professional excellence and Christlike compassion to the classroom. The ideal candidate creates a safe, engaging environment where children feel known, loved, and excited to learn. This role blends play‑based learning, faith integration, and DELC‑aligned early childhood practice.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, play‑based lessons aligned with DELC Oregon standards.
• Create a warm, inclusive classroom environment that supports exploration, creativity, and social‑emotional development.
• Teach foundational skills in early literacy, early math, motor development, and biblical understanding.
• Model and encourage Christlike character, kindness, empathy, and problem‑solving.
• Use positive guidance strategies that support emotional safety and respect.
• Communicate regularly with families through clear, compassionate updates.
• Observe, document, and assess children’s development using DELC‑aligned tools.
• Maintain compliance with DELC licensing, health, and safety requirements.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support a joyful, mission‑driven school culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Child Development or related field preferred or Oregon Registry Step 6.5 or higher
• Registered with the Oregon Central Background Registry
• Experience working in preschool, childcare, or early childhood education settings
• Training in Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect, Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED, and Oregon Food Handler certification
• Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practice and early learning standards
• Ability to support children with diverse needs, including early‑intervention collaboration
• Excellent communication skills and a heart for partnering with families
• Commitment to integrating Christian faith naturally and authentically into the classroom
