Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Preschool Teacher (Early Childhood Teacher) to join our faculty. As an Early Childhood Educator at The Children’s Place, you will play a vital role in shaping young minds and maintaining a high-quality learning environment. Responsibilities
- Curriculum & Instruction: Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote the intellectual, social, and emotional development of students, adhering to the best practices of Early Childhood Education.
- Classroom Management: Create a safe, nurturing, and structured environment that encourages exploration. Utilize positive behavior management techniques and maintain compliance with all DSS Licensing regulations.
- Individualized Care: Provide personalized attention to each child, identifying unique developmental needs and implementing appropriate interventions.
- Family Partnership: Foster strong relationships with parents and guardians through regular communication and formal parent-teacher conferences.
- Collaboration: Work alongside fellow ECE Teachers to enhance curriculum materials and the overall educational program.
- Campus Stewardship: Engage with our unique outdoor spaces, including the edible garden and chicken coop, as part of the daily learning experience.
Experience & Qualifications
- Education: Strong foundational knowledge of Child Development principles and Early Childhood Education (ECE) units.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of professional experience working with preschool-aged children.
- Certification: Must be CPR/First Aid Certified (or willing to obtain certification immediately).
- Licensing: Familiarity with DSS Licensing standards and requirements.
- Skills: Strong communication skills, familiarity with early literacy strategies, and experience in behavior management for preschoolers and toddlers.
- Compliance: Ability to pass all state-required background checks and fingerprinting.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

- Are you willing and able to work as a teacher with two year old preschool students?
- Do you have 12 ECE Units? Per the requirements specified by DSS Licensing, Article 6, section 101216.1 .
To be a fully qualified teacher, a teacher shall have one of the following:
(C)(1) Twelve postsecondary semester or equivalent quarter units in early childhood education or child development completed, with passing grades, at an accredited or approved college or university; and at least six months of work experience in a licensed child care center or comparable group child care program.
(A) The units specified in (c)(1) above shall include courses that cover the general areas of child growth and development, or human growth and development; child, family and community, or child and family; and program/curriculum.
