Preschool Teacher (Ages 2.5-3.5)

SUMMARY PURPOSE STATEMENT

The Pre-School Teacher is responsible for implementing policies and procedures for the pre-school classroom; is responsible for the general supervision and management of 8 children and up to 16 children with an aide.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Preferred Education : 4 year Degree in Early Childhood

Minimum Education:2 year Associate Degree in Early Childhood/CDA/ CPL Level 3

Preferred Experience: 3 years teaching experience in a pre-school classroom

Minimum Experience: 1 year in an early childhood setting

Preferred Personal: Certified in CPR, Child Abuse. First Aide, Communicable Disease:

Ability to relate well with parents as well as children

Minimum Personal: 18 years of age. Willing to attend required trainings

DUTIES:

To plan, supervise and implement the program for the pre-school class in accordance with state licensing regulations and the policies and philosophy of the center.

To individualize the program to meet the needs of each child with concerns for his/her interest, disabilities, special talents, and style and pace of learning.

To maintain all necessary logs, reports, attendances and daily communication sheets to ensure communication with parents; and complete all state and USDA requirements

To handle the arrangement, appearance, décor and learning environment of the classroom.

To participate in recommended training programs, conferences, workshops, and other aspects of professional growth.

To follow the procedure for opening and closing each day

To assist in public relations events sponsored by the center.

To attend all staff meetings.
