Torah Academy of Jacksonville is seeking a warm, dependable, and caring Preschool Teacher Assistant for the 2026–2027 academic year. This is a full-time position working in our preschool program with either our Pre-K3 or VPK class. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with young children, support a positive and nurturing classroom environment, and work closely under the direction of the lead teacher.
Torah Academy of Jacksonville is an Orthodox Jewish Day School. Applicants do not need to be Jewish, but should be comfortable working in a values-based, respectful, and mission-driven school environment.
Position Details
Position: Preschool Teacher Assistant
Start Date: August 1, 2026
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8:15 AM–4:15 PM; Friday, 8:15 AM–2:30 PM
Employment Type: Full-time, hourly
Pay Range: $17–$19 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
Responsibilities
The Preschool Teacher Assistant will support the lead teacher in creating a safe, structured, warm, and engaging classroom environment for young children.

All students are expected to be potty trained; however, the assistant should be comfortable helping children with age-appropriate self-care routines as needed.
Parent communication is primarily handled by the lead teacher.

Physical Requirements
The position requires the ability to actively supervise young children throughout the school day. Candidates should be able to sit on the floor, bend, kneel, stand for extended periods, assist children as needed, and participate in active indoor and outdoor supervision.
