Preschool Teacher Assistant/Aide

Building Kidz Preschool of Palo Alto South is seeking energetic, committed, motivated, team player who take initiative to work as Assistant Teacher.

Candidate must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or GED and have experience working with preschool age children in a group setting. Experience in a preschool setting and classroom training in the education and development of young children strongly prefered. A warm and friendly personality, a love of young children and the ablility to work in harmony with other staff members required. Must be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with the center’s philosophy and present themselves in a professional manner at all times.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma required
• 6 ECE units (minimum) or working towards ECE and plus but not required.
• At least one year of professional experience in the childcare/teaching field is preferred, but not required
• Ability to pass background check
• Be able to lead groups of children
• Must have a positive outlook, reliable, creative and passionate about working with children
• 8 hours of Pediatric First Aid and Pediatric CPR/AED or willingness to obtain

Additional requirements for all positions:
Able to lift and carry a 40-pound object

Responsibilities:

• Ensure each student's health and safety at all times through close supervision and adherence to our daily protocols
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a positive learning environment.
• Prepares a warm and safe environment that is orderly, clean, and appealing which permits the child to grow and explore (including disinfecting toys, cleaning up after meals and snacks, and on-going bathroom checks and pull up changes, organizing, etc.
• Prepares materials needed in the classroom, including snacks, cleans, disinfects outside play area as well as inside the classroom, assist children in the bathroom, including to potty training and diaper changes.
