Preschool Teacher- Special Education

Tiegerman Preschool in Glen Cove is looking to hire Special Education Preschool Teachers for our program. Tiegerman is a 12 month program. This is a full time position (M-F 8:30AM-3:30PM; benefits eligible).

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

• Supervise students in the classroom and all other areas of the school building
• Read, understand and implement each student’s Individualized Education Plan
• Participate in the development of Individualized Education Plans to address the needs of individual students and annual CPSE/ transition meetings
• Organize curriculum and instruction around developmentally appropriate thematic units
• Adapt instruction and materials to meet the individual needs, strengths and interests of all students
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student progress
• Write and submit lesson plans, unit plans, annual classroom reports and other assigned paperwork in accordance with established guidelines and schedules
• Administer annual assessments to all students and accurately interpret and report test scores
• Manage student behavior in the classroom according to the established classroom management practices and Behavior Intervention Plans
• Maintain the confidentiality of student records and information in accordance with FERPA and school policies
• Report incidents
• Participate in various staff meetings as scheduled

Pay: $53,500.00 - $75,000.00 per year

Education:

• Bachelor's (Required)

Experience:

• Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
• Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• SWD Birth - Grade 2 Certificate (Required)
