Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Teacher to join our early childhood education team here at Shannon's Exclusive Child Care at Geist. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in childhood development, classroom management, and curriculum development, with a commitment to fostering a nurturing and engaging learning environment. Experience with children, early intervention, and special education is highly valued. Duties
- Implement age-appropriate curricula that promote literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional skills.
- Manage classroom behavior through positive behavior management techniques to create a safe and supportive environment.
- Foster early childhood development by supporting language acquisition, social skills, and cognitive growth.
- Utilize classroom management strategies to maintain an organized, clean, and stimulating learning space.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate student progress and address individual needs.
- Incorporate Montessori or other educational philosophies as appropriate to enhance learning experiences.
- Support children with special needs through early intervention strategies and individualized support plans.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood education, curriculum innovation, and best practices in childcare.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience in early childhood education or preschool settings is essential.
- Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in classroom management.
- Experience working with children with special needs or in early intervention programs is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, and teaching physical education or literacy activities.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Certification or training in Montessori methods or other specialized preschool teaching approaches is a plus.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
