First Steps Preschool, a weekday ministry of First Baptist Katy, is a well known and highly regarded Preschool in the Katy area for the past 52 years. We seek to serve the Katy and surrounding communities by offering a vibrant, engaging, safe and Christ-centered early education experience for children aged 18 mos – 5 years old. We follow KISD schedule and holidays.
Job Overview
We are seeking passionate and dedicated Christian Preschool Teachers to join our educational team for the 2026-2027 school year. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in early childhood education and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young learners. This role involves developing lesson plans and implementing existing curriculum tailored to the developmental needs of preschool-aged children, ensuring their growth in preparation for Kindergarten.

- All positions are Co-Teacher relationships (no lead/assistant)
- Three (Tuesday-Thursday) or Four (Monday-Thursday) Day Positions. Closed on Fridays.
- Working hours are approximately 8:30am – 3:00pm (with a max of 7 hours per day), making this an ideal schedule for those with school aged children.
Experience/Requirements
- Must possess a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be able to articulate why you consider yourself a Christian.
- A degree in Early Childhood Education and/or Teacher Certification, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience working with children in a preschool setting or daycare environment.
- Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote early literacy, math, and physical education.
- Create a positive classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and learning.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively while promoting positive interactions among students.
- Collaborate with parents and caregivers to support children's development and address any concerns regarding child welfare.
