Preschool Teacher/Substitute Teacher

The Child Development Resource Center (CDRC) is a therapeutic preschool serving children ages 2–5 in San Luis Obispo County. We specialize in trauma-informed early education and mental health support, helping children and families heal, grow, and thrive.

We are currently hiring a Preschool Teacher to join our collaborative, caring, and highly skilled team.

Required Qualifications/Education/Experience:

• Must be at least 18 years of age, High school graduate or equivalent.
• 12 (ECE) units, including: Child Growth & Development, Child, Family & Community, ECE Programs & Curriculum
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with children ages 2–5
• Strong communication & teamwork skills
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and trauma-informed care
• Good organizational skills, initiative, and a proactive attitude.
• Team player! Able to communicate effectively and work with CDRC staff, youth, parents, community partners, and volunteers.
• A commitment to the goals and philosophy of the CDRC.
• Work with the therapy team on plans for the children in each classroom
• Provide consistent attendance M-F/ have good availability if substitute
• OFFERS CONTINGENT ON
• Live scan clearance to be completed -- prior to start date.
• Health, TB screening, and shot record -- prior to start date.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to the developmental needs of preschool children.
• Supervise and interact with children during playtime and learning activities to foster a safe and nurturing environment.
• Collaborate well with a team of other teachers, therapists, administration, and interns.
• Maintain classroom organization and cleanliness, ensuring a conducive learning atmosphere.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress and any concerns.
• Administer first aid when necessary and support children with special needs or disabilities.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
