Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and Montessori methods.
- Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that promotes positive behavior management and supports individual learning needs.
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that encourage social-emotional growth, cognitive development, and fine/gross motor skills.
- Utilize classroom management techniques to maintain an organized, stimulating space conducive to active learning and exploration.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians through regular communication about child progress, milestones, and developmental goals.
- Incorporate special education strategies and early intervention techniques to support children with diverse learning needs.
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools to monitor progress and tailor instruction accordingly.
- Plan lessons that integrate literacy education, STEM concepts, physical activity, and creative arts to foster well-rounded development.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings; prior classroom experience is highly valued.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, classroom management strategies, and behavior management techniques.
- Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, and teaching physical education or tutoring activities.
- Experience with special education practices, early intervention programs, and Montessori or other educational philosophies is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students and support their welfare effectively.
- Certification or coursework in early childhood education or related fields is preferred; state-specific childcare licensing requirements must be met. Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
