Prescription Advisor
We are growing! The Prescription Advisor will play an integral role in communicating with our members, Third Party Administrators, physicians, pharmacies, and assistance programs to successfully coordinate the procurement of high-cost specialty medications through compassionate, empathetic and exceptional customer service.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Initiates outreach to members to gather necessary information regarding their high-cost specialty medication
* Coordinates and prepares members files and patient assistance applications with our Third-Party Administrators, advocacy team, assistance programs and the member’s provider.
* Provides an analysis of all cost-effective options for each specialty medication
* Ongoing communication with specialty pharmacies, local pharmacies, and mail order pharmacies to ensure members prescriptions have been received and processed
* Monitors shipment of medications so the member has no disruption with their treatment
* Understands the need to advocate for the member as well as the group insurance plan
* Requests renewal information for members re-enrollment in the program
* Completes calls and email inquiries and responds by providing an outstanding customer experience at all levels
* Ensures accuracy, proper handling, and appropriate distribution of member and company documents
* Participates and assists with processing members claims through internal claims system.
*Assists with other tasks and projects as needed.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
*Certified Pharmacy Technician
* High school diploma or equivalent is required; college degree is preferred
* Account management and/or customer service experience is preferred
* Experience in prescription assistance programs is preferred
* Experience in a retail or specialty pharmacy, healthcare industry or hospital environment, is required
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
* Proficient in Microsoft Office 2010 (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
* Excellent communication skills, including listening, speaking, and writing
* Effective communication with members, physician offices, pharmacies and Third- Party Administrators
* Computer literacy for correspondence, data entry, e-mail, Internet, spreadsheets and accessing data from company systems
* Establishes priorities, works well independently and with a team, and proceeds with objective in a fast-paced environment
* Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task effectively
