Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Press Brake Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machines to shape sheet metal components with precision and efficiency. Your expertise will ensure that all fabricated parts meet strict quality standards while adhering to safety protocols. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate press brake machines, ensuring accurate bending of sheet metal according to detailed blueprints and technical drawings
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and specifications to produce precise components
- Program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) controlled press brakes for complex bending operations, optimizing machine performance
- Use hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and ensure quality standards are met
- Perform routine maintenance on press brake equipment and troubleshoot mechanical or electrical issues promptly
- Assist with material handling using forklifts or cranes to load raw materials and unload finished parts safely
- Conduct quality inspections throughout the fabrication process, ensuring parts meet tolerances and specifications before final assembly or shipment
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience operating press brake machines and other fabrication equipment such as CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, and electrical discharge machining tools
- Proficiency in CNC programming for bending operations and familiarity with CNC laser cutting technology
- Ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret GD&T for precise fabrication
- Knowledge of sheet metal properties, tooling setups, and fabrication techniques including welding and assembly processes
- Skilled in using hand tools, calipers, micrometers, micrometer gauges, and other precision measuring instruments for quality inspection
- Experience with forklift operation, crane handling, and basic math skills essential for accurate measurements and calculations
- Understanding of manufacturing safety protocols and adherence to workplace safety standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a team environment while maintaining attention to detail under tight deadlines
