Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Press Brake Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating press brake machines to bend and shape sheet metal components with precision and efficiency. Your expertise will ensure that all fabricated parts meet strict quality standards while adhering to safety protocols. Duties
- Set up and operate various types of press brake machines, ensuring accurate bending according to detailed blueprints and technical drawings.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine proper tooling and machine settings.
- Program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) press brakes for precise automation of bending tasks, optimizing production flow.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify dimensions and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance on press brake equipment, including tooling adjustments, calibration, and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
- Conduct quality inspections during and after production runs, identifying defects or deviations and making necessary adjustments.
- Collaborate with fabrication, welding, and assembly teams to ensure seamless workflow and timely completion of projects.
- Operate auxiliary equipment such as forklifts, cranes, plasma cutters, CNC laser cutting machines, CNC lathes, CNC milling machines, electrical discharge machining tools, stamping presses, and hand tools as needed for fabrication processes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating press brake machines in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot machine issues quickly.
- Familiarity with CNC programming and operation for automated bending tasks.
- Ability to read complex blueprints and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications accurately.
- Knowledge of sheet metal properties, tooling setups, and fabrication techniques including welding and assembly.
- Competence in using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges for quality inspection.
- Basic math skills necessary for calculating dimensions, angles, and material requirements.
- Experience working with hand tools and fabrication equipment like cranes or forklifts (certification preferred).
- Understanding of safety procedures related to machining operations and material handling in a manufacturing setting.
