Press Machine Operator - Portland, OR

The role of the Machine Operator at Gasket Specialties Powered by TIPCO Technologies is to produce custom gaskets using hydraulic presses and/or punch presses, as well as picking centers and holes from parts.

Responsibilities:

• Operating either hydraulic press or punch press to produce gaskets from various materials.
• Picking centers and holes from parts when needed.
• Cut and measure dimensions to conform to prints or descriptions on Traveler.
• Keep accurate count during cutting process.
• Minimize usage of material by nesting properly.
• Adhere to organizational and informational duties, i.e. inventory tags, basic upkeep of equipment, general cleanliness, etc.
• Additions duties that may be asked by Foreman or Production Manager.
• Maintain a safe environment by following all safety guidelines and training.
• Ability to communicate effectively, and to understand technical prints and travelers.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous warehouse or logistics experience preferred
• The position requires frequent lifting, pushing and pulling of materials and press trays up to 75lbs.
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork skills

Work Environment

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, and stand. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
