About the Role:

The Press Operator plays a critical role in the manufacturing and production process by efficiently operating and maintaining printing press machines to ensure high-quality output. This position requires a thorough understanding of machine set-up, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly to minimize downtime. The operator will be responsible for managing the entire production process, from preparing materials and setting up equipment to monitoring the press during operation and performing routine maintenance. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are essential to maintain product standards and ensure a safe working environment. Ultimately, the Press Operator contributes to meeting production targets and delivering consistent, high-quality printed materials in a timely manner.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience operating printing press machines in a production environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform machine set-up and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime when required.
  • Basic knowledge of production processes and safety standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification or formal training in printing press operation or mechanical maintenance.
  • Experience with clamp truck operation and handling production equipment.
  • Familiarity with quality control procedures in printing or manufacturing.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and production blueprints.
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and calibrate printing press machines according to job specifications and production schedules.
  • Monitor press operations continuously to ensure proper functioning and quality output, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on press machines to prevent breakdowns and maintain efficiency.
  • Handle production equipment such as bumpers and clamp trucks safely and effectively to support the production process.
  • Work overtime as needed to meet production deadlines and maintain workflow continuity.
