Position Summary
The Prevention Specialist plays a vital role in delivering impactful, evidence-based Life Skills programming to youth and families. This position focuses on education, outreach, and community engagement to prevent substance abuse and promote overall wellness.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate engaging Life Skills workshops for youth and families
- Recruit and retain program participants through outreach and follow-up
- Develop and manage a program calendar aligned with grant goals
- Spend at least 80% of time delivering curriculum to participants
- Conduct pre- and post-assessments to evaluate program outcomes
- Represent the program at schools, community events, and health fairs
- Build partnerships with schools and community organizations
- Maintain accurate data entry, attendance records, and reports
- Assist in planning and hosting community forums and outreach events
- Ensure compliance with grant requirements and program fidelity standards
- Participate in required trainings and team meetings
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Nursing, or related field
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and access to a vehicle
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Preferred:
- 1+ year experience in substance abuse prevention or working with youth
- Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) credential
- Bilingual in English and Spanish

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data systems

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
Work Environment
- Hybrid position (combination of office, community-based work, and remote tasks)
- Local travel required within the Camden area
- Must be able to walk, stand, climb stairs, and lift up to 20 lbs
