Key Responsibilities1. Preventive Maintenance Planning
- Develop, implement, and monitor preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment and machinery.
- Prepare annual, monthly, and weekly maintenance plans.
- Ensure adherence to PM schedules and take corrective steps for delays.
2. Equipment & Asset Management
- Maintain accurate records of equipment history, maintenance logs, and breakdown reports.
- Ensure availability of critical spare parts by coordinating with the stores/procurement team.
- Conduct periodic inspections of equipment to ensure optimum performance and reliability.
3. Team Management
- Supervise and guide the preventive maintenance team, technicians, and engineers.
- Conduct training sessions for staff on maintenance best practices, safety, and SOPs.
- Assign daily tasks and monitor team performance.
4. Breakdown & Root Cause Analysis
- Investigate root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Work closely with operations and production teams to reduce downtime.
- Develop improvement plans to eliminate repetitive breakdowns.
5. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety norms, statutory requirements, and company policies.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure proper lockout–tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Support audits (internal/external) for maintenance and safety.
6. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed PM reports, checklists, and equipment performance records.
- Prepare KPI reports (MTBF, MTTR, Downtime, Schedule Compliance).
- Present monthly PM performance reports to management.
7. Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to enhance equipment efficiency and reduce maintenance costs.
- Implement predictive maintenance techniques where applicable.
- Recommend equipment upgrades or replacements.
Required QualificationsEducation
- Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Engineering (or equivalent).
Experience
- 5–10 years of experience in maintenance, with at least 3 years in a preventive maintenance supervisory or managerial role.
- Experience in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
