Preventive Maintenance Technician

The PM Technician is responsible for performing scheduled inspections, routine servicing, and minor repairs on production machinery and facility systems. The primary goal is to identify potential mechanical or electrical failures before they occur to minimize unplanned downtime and ensure a safe, efficient manufacturing environment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Routine Inspections: Conduct regular visual and instrumental checks of machinery.
  • Scheduled Servicing: Perform tasks such as lubricating moving parts, changing oil and filters, adjusting belts, and cleaning components.
  • Testing and Calibration: Verify the accuracy of measuring instruments and test safety systems like fire alarms or emergency shutoffs to ensure they function according to standard specifications.
  • Part Replacement: Swap out worn or near-end-of-life components, such as seals, gaskets, and filters, before they cause a system breakdown.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed logs of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
  • Inventory Management: Track and restock supplies, tools, and spare parts needed for upcoming scheduled maintenance.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification in industrial maintenance or electrical technology preferred.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift to 50 lbs., stand for long periods of time, and work in confined spaces or at heights.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong mechanical aptitude and a sense of urgency when handling potential equipment failures
