Duties
- Transcribe physician-patient interactions accurately and efficiently during medical consultations, capturing detailed clinical notes in real time.
- Assist in documenting comprehensive medical histories, physical examinations, diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions.
- Manage electronic health record (EHR) and electronic medical record (EMR) systems to ensure precise and organized medical documentation.
- Support physicians by retrieving and updating patient records, lab results, imaging reports, and other relevant data.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations and institutional policies.
- Facilitate smooth clinic operations by verifying patient demographics, insurance details, and appointment schedules.
- Utilize strong typing skills and medical terminology knowledge to produce clear, concise, and accurate documentation swiftly during busy clinic hours.
Experience
- Prior experience in a medical office setting or as a medical scribe is highly preferred; familiarity with primary care workflows is a plus.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems used in clinical environments.
- Strong transcription skills with the ability to accurately convert spoken language into detailed written records.
- Knowledge of human physiology, anatomy, and common medical terminology to ensure precise documentation.
- Experience working in emergency room settings or with urgent care teams is advantageous but not required.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
