Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Primary Care Physician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive medical care across a diverse patient population, utilizing advanced clinical skills and a broad knowledge of medical specialties. This role offers an opportunity to deliver high-quality patient care in outpatient and inpatient settings, contributing to overall health outcomes and patient satisfaction. The physician will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments, developing personalized treatment plans, and coordinating care with multidisciplinary teams. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic and EMR platforms is essential to ensure accurate documentation and seamless patient management.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and health assessments for patients of all ages.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses across various specialties including cardiology, endocrinology, pulmonology, rheumatology, dermatology, neurology, and more.
- Utilize diagnostic tools such as medical imaging (CT, mammography, nuclear medicine) and interpret laboratory results to inform clinical decisions.
- Develop personalized care plans incorporating preventive care, immunizations, medication management, and lifestyle counseling.
- Coordinate with specialists in fields such as podiatry, obstetrics/gynecology (Ob/Gyn), neonatology, pediatric critical & intensive care, trauma medicine, hospice & palliative medicine, and others as needed.
- Perform procedures including suturing, IV infusions, wound care, ostomy care, spinal taps, gastric lavage, and airway management when necessary.
- Manage inpatient and outpatient cases using clinical research data and adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Engage in telehealth services to expand access to care while maintaining high standards of patient service.
- Participate in discharge planning, post-operative care, and follow-up consultations to optimize recovery outcomes.
- Maintain accurate medical records using EMR/EHR systems like Epic or other platforms; ensure compliance with NCQA standards and CPT/ICD coding requirements.
Requirements
- Medical degree from an accredited institution with active licensure as a Physician (MD or DO).
- Proven experience in primary care practice within outpatient or hospital settings; experience in hospital medicine or Level I/II trauma centers is advantageous.
- Proficiency with EHR systems such as Epic or similar platforms; familiarity with medical coding (CPT/ICD) is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, pathology, pharmacology (including psychopharmacology), and clinical evaluation techniques.
- Ability to perform procedures like suturing, catheterization, neurocritical care interventions, respiratory therapy procedures including ventilator management, and basic life support certification required.
- Experience across multiple specialties such as cardiology (cardiac catheterization), nephrology (dialysis), infectious disease care, reproductive endocrinology, sleep medicine, addiction medicine counseling, and others is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service; ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development through participation in clinical research or trials; adherence to infection control protocols and HIPAA compliance. Pay: $150,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
