Job Description: Primary Care Physician Assistant – Direct Primary Care Practice
**Position Overview**
The Primary Care Physician Assistant will support the MD in delivering comprehensive primary care services within a Direct Primary Care model. The PA will provide patient evaluations, manage chronic and acute conditions, perform procedures, and educate patients, ensuring a high standard of care in a personalized, accessible setting.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Phlebotomy Skills
- Conduct thorough patient histories and physical examinations.
- Diagnose and manage common acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the MD.
- Order, interpret, and follow up on laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging.
- Perform minor procedures as appropriate within scope of practice.
- Provide patient education on disease prevention, wellness, and health maintenance.
- Assist in medication management, including prescribing under physician supervision.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and practice workflow optimization.
- Foster strong patient relationships emphasizing continuity of care and accessibility.
- Collaborate with the MD and other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care.
**Qualifications**
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current and unrestricted PA license in the state of practice.
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Experience or interest in primary care, family medicine, or internal medicine preferred.
- Knowledge of Direct Primary Care principles and patient-centered care models is a plus.
- Strong clinical skills with ability to manage a broad range of medical conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
- Proficient with electronic health records (EHR) and basic office technology.
