Primary Care Registered Nurse

Duties

  • Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed health histories to inform personalized care plans.
  • Administer medications, injections—including immunizations and dermal fillers—and manage IV infusions with precision and adherence to aseptic techniques.
  • Coordinate diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory tests, specimen collection/processing, and interpret results using Athena EMR system.
  • Provide patient education on health coaching topics such as chronic disease management, medication adherence, nutrition, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Manage triage responsibilities by evaluating patient needs over the phone or in person.
  • Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and NCQA standards.
  • Handle care management, patient cases and follow-ups to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with team and management.

Requirements

  • Valid RN license in good standing with current Florida state licensure.
  • Proven experience in primary care settings with familiarity using EMR/EHR systems .
  • Strong clinical skills including medication administration (IV insertion/injection), laboratory specimen collection/processing, and basic life support certification.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology principles, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding for procedures and services.
  • Ability to perform physical examinations and diagnostic evaluations confidently while maintaining aseptic technique standards.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
