Key responsibilities include curriculum development, maintaining a safe classroom, communicating with parents, adapting lessons to diverse needs, and integrating scientific principles into a holistic learning experience for elementary-aged students. Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum & Lesson Planning: Develop and implement age-appropriate science curriculum, creating engaging lesson plans that align with national and state standards.
- Instruction: Teach fundamental science concepts (Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science) in an understandable way, using lectures, demonstrations, and various teaching methods.
- Hands-On Activities: Conduct and supervise science experiments, laboratory activities, and hands-on projects to foster basic scientific understanding and curiosity.
- Assessment & Feedback: Assess student performance and progress through assignments, tests, and quizzes, providing constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a safe, orderly, and positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and can develop resilience and critical thinking skills.
- Parent Communication: Regularly communicate with parents and guardians about their children's performance, progress, and needs.
- Differentiated Instruction: Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate students with diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest developments in science education and participate in professional learning communities to enhance instructional practices.
- Extracurriculars: Supervise extracurricular activities and participate in school-wide functions and events.
- Equipment Management: Maintain an inventory of science equipment and materials, ensuring their proper use and safety.
