The Primary Science Teacher is responsible for introducing students to basic scientific concepts through engaging, hands-on, and inquiry-based learning. The teacher will inspire curiosity, develop observation and reasoning skills, and build a strong foundation in environmental awareness and scientific thinking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Planning & Delivery
- Plan, prepare, and deliver well-structured science lessons aligned with the school’s academic plan and CBSE curriculum.
- Use experiments, demonstrations, and visual aids to make concepts clear and engaging.
- Integrate environmental education and real-life applications into lessons.
- Student Engagement & Learning Development
- Encourage inquiry-based learning and hands-on exploration.
- Conduct science activities, projects, and classroom experiments to enhance understanding.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the varied learning needs of students.
- Assessment & Evaluation
- Design and administer class tests, quizzes, and assignments to evaluate understanding.
- Maintain systematic records of students’ progress and provide timely feedback.
- Prepare report cards and participate in parent-teacher interactions.
- Classroom Management
- Create a safe, organized, and stimulating learning environment.
- Encourage scientific curiosity and good lab safety practices during activities.
- Foster positive behavior and discipline within the classroom.
- Professional Contribution
- Collaborate with other subject teachers for integrated teaching approaches.
- Organize and participate in science exhibitions, fairs, and thematic celebrations.
- Attend staff meetings, training workshops, and continuous professional development programs.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science / Education (B.Sc. with B.Ed. preferred).
- Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience in primary grades.
- Strong conceptual understanding of primary-level science topics.
