POSITION SUMMARY
Site Director - AM & PM - ASES is mandated to take all steps necessary to ensure the safety, security, and
well-being of students enrolled in the program. Responsibilities include supervision and interaction with
students on a daily basis, individually and via group. This position is also responsible for ensuring
paperwork is completed accurately and submitted on time.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure the safety, security, and well-being of students enrolled in the program

Collaborate regularly with the principal to ensure program meets expectations and providesupervisor monthly progress reports
-
Responsible for ensuring designated school space is maintained in a clean and orderly manner
-
Monitor and ensure employees’ timecards are accurate and approved in a timely manner
-
Open/Close site each AM & PM
-
Responsible for picking-up, maintaining, and returning all devices being used during distance learning and remote working

Must be able to work at least 90% of all program hours; schedule must be pre-approved by supervisor and documentation will be required as proof for the schedule modification
JOB COMPLEXITY
-
Supervise day-to-day activities of the in-person and distance learning program while followingcontract
-
Provide regular supervision to reinforce strengths and work on challenges with subordinates
-
Develop and coordinate creative in-person and distance learning program activities that are appropriate for the enrolled students

Create and monitor student behavior plans and transitional plans when necessary

Maintain attendance and snack records
-
Ensure all administrative paperwork is accurate and completed on time

Work effectively across all program service areas for Agency wide effective communication and operations
-
Under HR’s direction will participate in preparing and reviewing in any legal related matters
STAFF SUPERVISION
-
Responsible for supervising, coaching, training, directing and evaluating staff
-
Responsible for holding regular Site Meetings and Supervision Meetings to ensure consistency amongst staff as well as to review policies and procedures
COMMUNICATION
-
Develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with staff, parents, and children
-
Create and distribute program information internally and externally, including; forms, newsletters, calendars of activities, etc.

Conduct regular parent meetings to distribute information, as well as obtain feedback and suggestions
AGENCY LEADERSHIP
-
Provide overall control and direction of staff on how to interact with internal & external customers
-
Enforce progressive disciplinary procedures including Employee Corrective Counseling, while providing strength based support
DECISION MAKING

Judgments and decisions are guided by Harmonium and program policies, contracts and guidelines
MINIMUM COMPETENCIES
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
-
Must be 18 years of age
-
Must have 48 completed college units OR pass the District’s Classroom Assistant Proficiency Exam (a basic math and literacy exam)
-
Must have either a minimum of 12 completed units in child development, elementary and/or middle school education, recreation or related field OR a minimum of 12 months documented work experience in an ASES program
-
Must have 1 year supervisory experience of children & staff OR 1 year assistant supervisory experience within Harmonium OR demonstrated administrative and programmatic experience (ex. attendance tracking, staff counseling/training, student support, etc.)

Must have 1 year working in an afterschool program or group child care setting with elementary and/or middle school aged children
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY

Excellent organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Good computer skills required
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS UPON HIRE

Valid CPR and First Aid certification
-
Valid TB results (required every 4 years)

Must receive Fingerprint Clearance (paid by Harmonium)

Must have reliable transportation to travel through San Diego County; when using personalvehicle, must maintain valid driver’s license and current auto insurance
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to operate a vehicle

High energy needed with the ability to balance multiple high-stress tasks

Ability to work in noisy and outdoor environments

Ability to travel throughout the county with the flexibility required to meet job duties

Frequent repetitive hand use and simple grasping, i.e., desk and computer functions

Ability to sit for prolonged period

Ability to lift and carry up to twenty pounds

Ability to operate a computer

Occasional standing, walking, kneeling, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, reaching above and below the shoulder functions
COMPENSATION
Starting Rate: $26.52 per hour (all new hires begin at starting salary regardless of experience)
