Principal Clinical Data Scientist (Part-Time / Fully Remote)

About Us: Palcon Lifesciences Inc. is a pioneering cardiovascular medical device company. As the U.S. subsidiary of our global parent company, we are driving the FDA IDE/PMA regulatory pathways for our next-generation Left Atrial Appendage Occluder (LAAO) devices. We are seeking a highly specialized Principal Clinical Data Scientist to lead our complex clinical data modeling and act as a critical technical bridge between our U.S. clinical operations and overseas R&D headquarters.

Role Summary: This fully remote, part-time executive role is designed for a top-tier data scientist with a deep academic and clinical background. You will be responsible for building predictive machine learning models using complex, multimodal clinical data to support our cardiovascular device trials. Additionally, you will facilitate high-level technical data communication between our English-speaking FDA regulatory team and our Mandarin-speaking engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop robust machine learning pipelines (using Python, R, SQL) to analyze multimodal clinical trial data, predicting individualized patient responses and device efficacy.
  • Process and analyze high-dimensional physiological signals and imaging data, applying advanced signal processing and time-frequency analysis to extract key clinical biomarkers.
  • Design and execute data pipelines (ETL) and automated parameter optimization (e.g., Auto-ARIMA) for longitudinal clinical tracking.
  • Lead cross-border technical meetings, translating complex statistical and clinical data insights accurately between English and Mandarin to ensure R&D alignment.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Education: Ph.D. in Visual Science, Computational Management Science, Computer Science, or a strictly related quantitative discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of post-doctoral or senior research experience specifically in designing and analyzing subject-blinded randomized controlled trials (RCTs).
  • Technical Stack: Expert-level proficiency in Python (Jupyter), SQL, and R, with a strong portfolio in Machine Learning (Logistic Regression, Random Forest, KNN) and NLP (TF-IDF vectorization).
  • Niche Clinical Data Expertise: Proven track record of applying advanced signal processing (PCA, Time-Frequency analysis) to complex electrophysiological or multimodal imaging data (such as MEG, fMRI, EEG, or EOG).
  • Language: Native or bilingual fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese (reading, writing, and speaking) is strictly required to review original R&D documentation from our overseas parent company.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year
