Principal For Nursing

Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Play a significant leadership and management role in the ongoing development of the B.Sc, M.sc Nursing programme.
Maintain overall supervision of teaching programs and guidance of teaching staff including in-service education of staff.
Responsible for all documentation work regarding college admissions and play a leading role in the student admission process
Promote Career Planning services through in-class presentations, student organization outreach, New Student Orientation and in concert with college support services.
Responsibility for organizing workload of staff including teaching assignments.
Direct planning activities & put programs in place with staff to ensure attainment of College of Nursing vision.
Determines the scope & responsibility of each teaching & non-teaching staffs.
Consistently makes administrative decision based on established policies
Represent the institution, such as quality assurance, learning and teaching, international development, enterprise, research or research ethics.
Provide supervision and mentorship to the faculty team, supporting them in the development of their personal research track records and research impact.
Promotes staff participation in research.
Identify industry / institutions for collaboration and involvement of Institute in various association / academic bodies, etc. to integrate educational initiatives and resources
Follow up and coordination of the activities relating to the Ranking, Accreditation, Outreach, etc. and establish connect with government / non-Government agencies at both State and Central level;
Represents the college in professional associations, accrediting agencies, government bodies, foundations, and the business community; sponsors faculty participation with various local professional organizations.
Assisting in yearly teacher evaluations, assisting in providing guidance to staff and students, and encouraging a positive climate in the college.
Participate in the planning of new experiential learning programs in college curriculums.
Attend seminars and other training opportunities for professional development.
Administrative arrangements for students’ clinical experience and teaching in hospital and public health field.
Participation in the college’s committee work.
Generate employment opportunities for students and alumni by establishing and maintaining productive employer partnerships.
Providing timely feedback to the coordinators in terms of scope of improvement
Responsible for Recruiting the college Professors, Lecturers and other staff members.
Performing public relations duties for the College.
Organizing annual functions, external competitions and external examinations.
Maintain Alumni Students database.
Any other assignments as directed by the managing committee
QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters degree with Ph.d preferred.
Should have minimum 16 yrs of work experience in NRIF / NAAC Ranked college
Should have minimum 3 years’ of experience as principal in NRIF / NAAC Ranked college
He/She should know the regulation of THE Dr. MGR University.,
Should have vast knowledge in research programme
Should have vast knowledge in NAAC Accreditation
Should have vast knowledge in Academic and Administration.
