About the role
We’re hiring a PhD-level educator–researcher to lead teaching and applied research in AI/ML across universities, high school researchers in north america, and enterprise upskilling. You’ll run large, high-energy classes (often packed with software engineers), supervise research, publish, and ship real prototypes that matter.
What you’ll do
Teaching & Mentorship
- Deliver clear, engaging classes on Python + core ML/AI (data prep, classical ML, intro deep learning, evaluation, deployment basics).
- Teachlarge mixed-experience cohortswith strong classroom management.
- Run hands-on labs (Jupyter/Colab), design assignments/quizzes, grade with rubrics, and host office hours/capstone mentoring.
- Lead early-morning live sessions from 05:00 IST for global cohorts (remote), plus on-site sessions later in the day.
Research & Impact
- Lead applied AI/ML projects (e.g., CV, NLP/LLMs & RAG, tabular ML, forecasting), publish in reputable venues, and open-source code/data where possible.
- Build small research teams (students + engineers), manage IRB/ethics when needed, and drive industry collaborations and PoCs.
Programme & Community
- Co-own curriculum roadmaps; keep examples industry-relevant.
- Maintain teaching repos (notebooks, datasets, slides) and contribute to internal tooling.
- Present talks/workshops for partner institutions and enterprise clients.
Minimum requirements (must-have)
- PhD in CS/AI/ML/Data Science/EE/Applied Math (or adjacent field).
- Willingness to work early hours (from 05:00 IST; remote acceptable for this slot).
- Excellent communication and strong classroom presence, especially with large groups of software engineers.
- Python fluency.
- Solid AI/ML foundations
Preferred (good-to-have)
- Deep-learning experience (PyTorch or TensorFlow), plus one area: LLMs/RAG/agents, computer vision, time-series.
- MLOps familiarity: versioning (Git/GitHub), experiment tracking (e.g., W&B), packaging (Docker), simple APIs (FastAPI/Streamlit).
- A track record of publications / open-source repos / datasets; prior student supervision (MTech/BTech/MSc) or corporate L&D.
- Comfortable on Linux/cloud notebooks; basic SQL; data ethics/privacy awareness.
Success metrics
- Learner outcomes (attendance, completion, assessment deltas, CSAT/NPS).
- Research outputs (papers, code/data releases, demos/PoCs, grants/industry wins).
- On-time delivery of labs, grading SLAs, and feedback quality.
- Evidence of classroom engagement and inclusion.
