strengthening their Sustainability Department.
We are now seeking a
Principal Sustainability Engineer
who will report directly to the Sustainability Director.
The Profile
-
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
from a prominent university. While Environmental, Geology, or Mining Engineering is preferred, it is not mandatory.

Minimum 11 years of professional experience
, with the last few years specifically focused on the
Sustainability domain.
-
Proven experience in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) processes
, including application, monitoring, and periodic reporting, preferably within the
mining sector.
-
In-depth knowledge of Environmental Law No. 2872
and the associated
EIA Regulation
-
Mastery of the processes regulated by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, specifically regarding
EIA, Temporary Activity Certificates, and Environmental Permits.

Foundation-Level Competency
for Permit Processes across the General Directorate of Forestry
(OGM),
State Hydraulic Works
(DSİ),
Mining and Petroleum Affairs
(MAPEG), and Special Provincial Administrations.
-
Analytical capacity sufficient to conduct the monitoring, commitment tracking, and reporting
(monitoring reports, environmental monitoring plan, commitment matrix) within the scope of the
Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process.

Ability to perform basic-level technical analysis maps, coordinates, project modifications, and capacity increases
-
Ability to prepare Technical Documentation for weekly/monthly EIA status reports (in a Status–Assessment–Next Steps format).

Exceptional presentation skills
are necessary to effectively communicate Sustainability matters to
executive leadership.

Fluency in both spoken and written English is required
for the position.

Proven ability to tailor and deliver proposals effectively to diverse internal and external stakeholders.

Willingness and ability to travel frequently to mine sites
located throughout Turkey.
Job Description (Key Responsibilities)

Contribute to the development of the company-wide Sustainability Strategy
and assist the Director in its execution.
-
Champion and drive Sustainability best practices
across all organizational initiatives and projects.
-
Oversee the overall execution and efficacy of the sustainability program
and departmental mission.

Assess and analyze company policies
and processes to identify improvement areas aligned with the organization's commitment to sustainability.
-
Identify opportunities to balance business objectives with the commitment to local and global environmental regulations.

Propose and implement strategies
targeting environmental concerns, including
energy use, pollution reduction, conservation, recycling, facility design, and sustainability education.

Draft and implement sustainable organizational policies
that address environmental concerns.
-
Evaluate the efficacy of sustainability programs
and
recommend/implement necessary improvements.

Conduct research to identify emerging environmental and sustainability concerns
and industry issues.

Evaluate sustainability proposals
considering
cost-effectiveness, feasibility, and integration
with existing programs.

Ensure compliance of all new projects and initiatives with the organization's Sustainability objectives.

Contribute to fostering a sustainability-focused culture
across the organization through effective training and stakeholder engagement.
