Are you ready to lead the delivery of high-value waste contracts and drive service innovation across Leicestershire?

We're looking for a dynamic and experienced Principal Waste Contracts Officer to manage key waste contracts valued between £3-£10 million per annum. This is a pivotal role in shaping the future of waste management services, ensuring efficient operations, and delivering real benefits to our communities.

What you'll be doing:

• Managing major contracts including Treatment, Recycling, Energy from Waste (EfW), and Landfill.
• Leading service development and procurement projects.
• Preparing contract documentation in line with EU and Council procedures.
• Monitoring and managing significant waste budgets.
• Providing expert technical advice to stakeholders, including senior managers and elected members.
• Supporting and deputising for the Team Manager.
• Driving performance improvement and identifying commercial opportunities.

What we're looking for:

• Proven experience in contract procurement and management, ideally in waste or similar sectors.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to manage budgets, lead teams, and influence stakeholders.
• A relevant degree or equivalent experience; MCIWM membership or COTC qualification is desirable.
