Print Packaging Production Artist

L&E International is seeking a highly skilled Print Packaging Production Artist to support world-class packaging programs for leading consumer brands. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented production artist who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has deep expertise in packaging artwork, print production, color management, and file preparation.
Working closely with brands, engineers, project managers, and global manufacturing teams, you will transform creative concepts into production-ready packaging artwork while ensuring the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and brand consistency.
What You'll Do: Packaging Artwork & Production
- Meet directly with brand teams to review project requirements, artwork assets, color specifications, and packaging structures.
- Create and modify packaging mechanicals using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Esko plug-ins.
- Prepare high-resolution production-ready files for:
- Offset printing
- Flexography
- Gravure
- Digital printing
- Silkscreen printing
- Develop artwork that incorporates:
- Spot and CMYK color separations
- Foil stamping
- Embossing and debossing
- Specialty coatings and finishes
- Create 3D renderings and mockups to verify graphic placement and package functionality.
Color & Print Management
- Ensure accurate color reproduction using Pantone standards and Pantone Connect.
- Understand and apply color theory, color spaces, ink specifications, and print production best practices.
- Review proofs, digital samples, production samples, and mass-production submissions for color, quality, and layout accuracy.
Technical & Global Support
- Support packaging development teams across North America, Europe, and Asia.
- Partner with Packaging Engineers to create presentation-ready mockups and prototypes.
- Assist with RFQs, product redesigns, supplier evaluations, and technical packaging consultations.
- Attend press checks and provide technical production support when needed.
Asset Production & Quality Assurance
- Preflight files and prepare artwork for commercial print production.
- Adapt creative assets across multiple packaging formats and sizes.
- Manage version control, proofing workflows, and file archives.
- Conduct meticulous quality checks for typography, spacing, alignment, color consistency, and content accuracy.
Collaboration & Workflow Management
- Partner with customers, account managers, engineering teams, and suppliers.
- Maintain digital asset libraries and historical artwork files.
- Manage multiple projects while meeting aggressive production timelines.
Compliance & Industry Standards
- Maintain knowledge of:
- FSC certification requirements
- Recycling and environmental labeling standards
- Global trade and packaging compliance regulations
- Ensure all artwork meets current regulatory and sustainability requirements.
QualificationsRequired
- 5–8+ years of experience in packaging production, graphic production, or related fields.
- Expert-level proficiency in:
- Adobe Illustrator
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe InDesign
- Adobe Acrobat
- Strong understanding of packaging production workflows and print processes.
- Experience preparing files for commercial printing and packaging manufacturing.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify production errors before release.
- Strong typography, layout, and color management skills.
Preferred
- Experience with Esko software and packaging workflows.
- Experience creating 3D packaging renderings and mockups.
- Knowledge of folding carton, corrugated packaging, rigid boxes, and specialty packaging formats.
- Experience working with global manufacturing partners and packaging suppliers.
