Print Production Artist / Prepress Designer

Print Production Artist / Prepress Designer

Pay: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour Job Type: Full-time, in-person

About us We design and produce custom-branded windscreens, banners, and privacy screens for sports facilities and schools nationwide — turning chain-link fences and bland perimeters into branded statements for high school, college, and pro programs. Our work shows up on fields and courts across the country.

The role We're looking for a Print Production Artist to prepare client and in-house design files for grand-format production. The core of this job is taking design files — from our creative team, from clients, and from outside designers — and converting them into clean, production-ready print files that run correctly on our equipment the first time. You'll also take on light design work: laying out templates, making client-requested revisions, and building simple concepts when the creative team is at capacity.

This is a detail-heavy, production-critical role. If you take pride in catching a bad bleed, a missing link, or a color that won't output right before it hits the printer, you'll do well here.

What you'll do

  • Convert design files into print-ready production files for grand-format output
  • Check and correct bleeds, margins, color modes, resolution, linked assets, and fonts
  • Scale and tile artwork to match final output dimensions and substrate specs
  • Preflight files and troubleshoot issues before they reach the shop floor
  • Handle light design tasks: layout adjustments, client revisions, template-based work, and simple original concepts as needed
  • Work directly with production to make sure files translate cleanly to print
  • Maintain organized file structures and version control on shared drives

What you'll bring

  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Solid understanding of print production fundamentals: bleeds, CMYK vs RGB, DPI/resolution, vector vs raster, file scaling
  • Comfort working with common file types (AI, EPS, PDF, PNG, TIF, JPG) and knowing when to use which
  • Strong attention to detail — especially with specs, measurements, and file integrity
  • Ability to juggle multiple jobs on tight deadlines
  • Clear communication over email, phone, and in person

Bonus points for

  • Sign shop or grand-format print production experience
  • Familiarity with pressure-sensitive vinyls and substrates (MDO, Dibond, Coro, etc.)
  • Experience with RIP software or prepress workflows
  • FlexiSIGN Experience

Schedule Full-time, Monday–Friday. Occasional extended hours or weekend work during peak production periods.
