Position: Print Production VM Specialist
Department: Creative for all brands in Beauty
Work Location: Boston, MA, Hybrid (work 3 days onsite)
Hybrid Schedule: At Helen of Troy, we embrace a flexible hybrid work model designed to support collaboration and productivity. For roles eligible for hybrid work, our standard schedule includes in-office collaboration from Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. What you will be doing:
We are looking for a Print Production and VM specialist who turns beautiful ideas into flawless and on time executions across packaging mechanicals, in store signage, fixtures and activations. You bring deep knowledge of print processes, substrates, color management, and vendor workflows, and the rigor to safeguard quality from dieline to press check. You love being pixel perfect and obsess over measurements, color accuracy, and file hygiene. You are the bridge between design intent and real world delivery for retail and experiential environments.
This person will report to the Creative Director for Beauty.
Own print production from estimate to delivery, including specs, proofs, prepress, color, and quality control.
Build and revise packaging mechanicals, dielines , and multi SKU art files with precision.
Translate campaign systems into retail and VM formats, including signage, clings, shippers, headers, and shelf talkers.
Create production ready files with exact measurements, bleeds, folds, finishes, and callouts.
Manage vendor communication, timelines, and cost tracking, and coordinate shipments and installs.
Production and Execution
Set up and review color accurate proofs, manage PMS, spot, and CMYK builds.
Conduct press checks and troubleshoot paper, ink, finishing, and registration issues.
Maintain spec sheets, substrate libraries, dieline repositories, and production SOPs.
Partner with 3D and VM collaborators on fixture specs and material selections.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work with Art Directors and Designers to adapt creative for retail realities.
Coordinate with Retail or Trade Marketing and Sales on assortments, quantities, and timelines.
Align with Supply Chain and Vendors on schedules, compliance, and cost efficiencies.
Collaborate with in house Production on budgets, schedules, crews, and installation plans.
Execution & Workflow
Run multiple workstreams simultaneously with proactive risk and change management.
Keep production trackers updated and route proofs and approvals efficiently.
Ensure feasibility, durability, and brand fidelity across all print and VM outputs.
Skills needed to be successful in this role:
Mastery of print specs, prepress, color profiles, finishing, and large format signage
Expert mechanical building skills and meticulous attention to detail
Strong vendor management and cost and time
A passion for perfect pixels
Comfort reading technical drawings and working with dielines and fixtures
Experience using Adobe Creative Suite
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design
3+ years in print production, packaging, or VM for CPG, beauty, or retail environments
Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with emerging technologies
Comfortable using Asana
In Massachusetts, the standard base pay range for this role is $65,229 - $81,536 annually. This base pay range is specific to Massachusetts and may not be applicable to other locations. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to location, experience, skill level, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
