Job Overview

Consolidated Packaging Group is seeking an experienced Flexographic Press Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for operating and maintaining high-speed flexographic printing presses used in the production of flexible packaging materials.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating multi-color flexographic printing presses, setting up and running print jobs, matching colors, maintaining print quality standards, and troubleshooting press-related issues throughout production runs.

This is not a general machine operator position. Applicants must have direct experience operating flexographic printing presses within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor flexographic printing presses to produce high-quality printed packaging materials
• Perform press make-readies, job changeovers, and production run setups
• Maintain color consistency and print quality throughout production runs
• Work with multi-color printing processes and accurately match customer color specifications
• Monitor ink viscosity, registration, print quality, and overall press performance
• Troubleshoot print defects, registration issues, color variations, and equipment concerns
• Perform routine press maintenance and cleaning activities
• Interpret production orders, job tickets, specifications, and artwork requirements
• Verify materials, cylinders, plates, inks, and substrates prior to production
• Minimize waste and maximize press efficiency while maintaining quality standards
• Complete required production and quality documentation
• Work closely with Quality, Production, and Maintenance teams to ensure operational efficiency
• Follow all company safety, GMP, and quality procedures

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience operating flexographic printing presses
• Experience printing on film and flexible packaging materials required
• Experience operating presses with 5 or more colors required
• Strong understanding of color matching, color management, registration, and print quality standards
• Ability to troubleshoot print defects and press performance issues
• Experience performing press setups, changeovers, and production adjustments
• Ability to read and interpret production specifications and job requirements
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating Uteco Onyx flexographic presses strongly preferred
• Experience in flexible packaging manufacturing highly preferred
• Experience with 8-color, 10-color, or higher flexographic presses preferred
• Experience printing food-grade packaging materials a plus

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a true Press Operator/Pressman with hands-on flexographic printing experience. The ideal candidate understands color management, registration, print quality, press setup, troubleshooting, and production efficiency.

Candidates whose experience is limited to general machine operation, production equipment operation, or printing support roles without direct flexographic press operation experience will not meet the qualifications for this position.
