Prior Authorization/Insurance Verification Representative

Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Prior Authorization/Insurance Verification Representative to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for verifying insurance coverage, and obtain prior authorizations as needed.

Duties

• Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits using managed care systems and insurance portals
• Obtain prior authorizations for physical therapy (for insurance companies that require it)
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information during all verification processes
• Collaborate with medical office staff to update and manage insurance details, and authorization statuses
• Follow up on pending authorizations to expedite approvals and resolve discrepancies promptly

Experience

• Previous experience in a medical setting involving insurance verification or prior authorization processes helpful
• Experience working with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information
• Office experience demonstrating proficiency in handling multiple tasks efficiently
• Knowledge of insurance verification systems, medical office software, and electronic health records (EHR) platforms

We are looking for someone that is available to obtain the benefits and needed authorizations each day for our offices. This is a flexible position allowing you to work anytime from 7:00am to 5:00pm up to 5 hours/day (no more than 28 hours per week).

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
