Position Overview

We are seeking a Private Academic Tutor to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a teaching background and experience working with students who struggle academically or have learning differences. Tutoring sessions take place either in the student’s home or at local libraries. Most sessions are scheduled during weekday evenings or on weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one academic tutoring in reading, writing, and general academic support.
• Adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs, especially for students with ADHD, dyslexia, and executive functioning challenges.
• Create a supportive, encouraging learning environment that fosters growth and confidence.
• Communicate progress and updates with parents and Prometheus Minds leadership.
• Maintain punctuality, professionalism, and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required (education or related field preferred).
• Certified teacher or classroom experience strongly preferred.
• Prior tutoring experience, particularly with students who have learning differences, is a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Reliable transportation to travel to in-home and library sessions.

Schedule & Pay

• Hours: 6–9 hours per week (Must be available between 4:30-7PM M-F).
• Pay: $32/hour, paid biweekly.
