This position is a
Per Diem
position: Per diem employees (often in healthcare or education) work on-demand, filling in for absent staff or surges in workload.
POSITION
DUTIES/ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS:

Companionship and Emotional Support: Providing meaningful conversation, engaging in activities such as reading, games, or watching movies, and simply being a friendly and supportive presence to reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation.

Assistance with daily tasks: While primarily non-medical, companions can assist with light personal care tasks such as:
-
Meal planning and preparation.

Light housekeeping, including tidying up, laundry, and changing linens.
-
Errands: Completing errands like grocery shopping or picking up prescriptions.

Transportation: Driving clients to medical appointments, social outings, or running errands like grocery shopping or picking up prescriptions. Additional requirements must be met when transporting clients, per Overlook Transportation Policy.

Monitoring and Reporting: Observing the client's physical and mental condition, noting and reporting any significant changes to family members, Director of Business Development and Client Services, and the Private Duty Clinical Nurse Supervisor.

Personalized Care: The specific duties of a Companion will vary based on the individual needs and preferences of the client, those needs will be coordinated and relayed to by the Private Duty Clinical Nurse Supervisor as necessary.

Assistance with pet care such as dog walking, cleaning up and litter box maintenance when required.

Completing annual competencies accordingly.
