About Our Family
We are a warm, growth-oriented family seeking an experienced, highly organized, and nurturing Private Educator / Governess to help oversee the education, development, and daily structure of our three young children (Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and 2nd Grade).

This is not a traditional nanny role. We are looking for someone who genuinely loves children, education, creativity, and child development, and who can help create a structured yet joyful learning environment focused on emotional intelligence, curiosity, confidence, creativity, leadership, academics, and play.

Our ideal candidate is patient, playful, calm under pressure, highly engaging, and capable of balancing warmth with appropriate structure and boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and guide daily homeschool/educational activities for three elementary-aged children
• Help implement and manage curriculum and learning plans
• Foster a positive, engaging, and emotionally supportive learning environment
• Support reading, writing, math, creative learning, and project-based activities
• Encourage creativity, curiosity, confidence, leadership, and independence
• Coordinate educational activities, enrichment opportunities, and daily structure
• Assist with transitions between academics, activities, meals, and play
• Support language exposure and enrichment activities
• Coordinate and assist with extracurricular schedules including sports, dance, gymnastics, and other activities
• Create a calm, organized, and nurturing daily environment
• Reinforce manners, emotional regulation, social development, and respectful behavior
• Communicate professionally with parents regarding progress, routines, and observations

Ideal Candidate

• College educated required (Education, Child Development, Psychology, or related field preferred)
• Prior experience as a teacher, governess, private educator, homeschool educator, or high-level nanny/family assistant strongly preferred
• Experience working with multiple young children simultaneously
• Passion for teaching and child development
• Patient, loving, playful, energetic, and emotionally intelligent
• Able to provide structure and maintain boundaries in a calm and respectful manner
• Organized, proactive, dependable, and professional
• Comfortable creating engaging educational and creative activities
• Strong communication skills
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record preferred

Bonus Qualifications

• Montessori experience
• Homeschool or project-based learning experience
• Multilingual abilities (Spanish, French, or Russian a plus)
• Experience with gifted learners or enrichment-focused education
• Background in arts, music, movement, wellness, or athletics
