Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Private Equity Manager to lead investment activities for our private equity fund/business. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing, due diligencing, executing, and monitoring private equity investments across targeted sectors, with the goal of delivering strong risk‑adjusted returns to investors. This role requires a strong mix of financial modeling, negotiation, and portfolio‑management skills, as well as the ability to work closely with senior partners and portfolio companies.
Key Responsibilities
- Originate and assess new investment opportunities through market research, sector analysis, and relationship‑building with corporates, sponsors, and intermediaries.
- Lead end‑to‑end due diligence, including financial analysis, valuation (DCF, LBO, comparables), commercial assessment, and legal/ESG review.
- Structure and negotiate investment terms, including equity and debt instruments, governance arrangements, and exit mechanisms.
- Prepare detailed investment memoranda, board presentations, and internal approvals for investment committees.
- Monitor portfolio companies post‑investment, tracking KPIs, financial performance, and strategic milestones, and support value‑creation initiatives.
- Manage exits through secondary sales, IPOs, trade sales, or recapitalizations, aiming to optimize returns and timing.
- Maintain strong relationships with LPs, co‑investors, advisors, and other stakeholders in the private equity ecosystem.
- Contribute to fund strategy, sector focus, and investment policy as well as participate in fundraising and LP reporting activities.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; an MBA, CFA, or equivalent is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, corporate finance, or M&A, preferably with experience closing and managing private equity deals.
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling, valuation, and LBO analysis, including Excel and relevant financial software.
- Demonstrated experience in leading due diligence, transaction execution, and working with legal and tax advisors.
- Familiarity with private equity fund structures, term sheets, and investment documentation.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts clearly.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience in [sector, e.g., TMT, healthcare, industrials, real estate, etc.] is advantageous.
- Track record of delivering strong returns or value creation in portfolio companies.
- Regional market knowledge (e.g., GCC, APAC, or other relevant region) and existing network of deal sources.
