Private Insurance Coordinator

Exodus Recovery, Inc (Exodus) is looking to hire a full-time Private Insurance Coordinator for our Oceanside CSU program located in Oceanside, CA.

Provides data and billing support to the County of Los Angeles, San Diego, Fresno, and Orange County Department of Mental Health (“Department”) contracted programs or other contracted/certified services and/or programs.

The Private Insurance Coordinator is responsible for managing private insurance billing and/or overseeing billing and invoicing for ECM/Community Support Providers and Managed Care Plans (MCPs) across Exodus Recovery programs. This advanced role requires comprehensive knowledge of behavioral health and medical claims processes to ensure the accurate and timely submission of claims to private and third-party payors. Key responsibilities include posting payments, resolving denials, handling resubmissions, and securing proper reimbursement while maintaining compliance with payor requirements and industry standards. The coordinator collaborates effectively with patients, clinicians, and insurance carriers, leveraging expertise in billing practices to support the financial integrity of the organization.

Requirements:

  • Two (2) to Four (4) years of experience in a customer service-oriented position or administrative support role, preferably in behavior health or healthcare billing.
  • Experience obtaining insurance information and verifying eligibility, strong knowledge with various healthcare plan types.
  • Familiarity with coding guidelines, state and federal regulations, and managed care policies.
  • Experience with claim adjudication, including reviewing, processing, and resolving insurance claims according to payer requirements and organizational policies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear and professional interactions.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate claim processing and account management.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and assist in resolving billing issues.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop skills in insurance billing and claims processes.
  • Comprehensive understanding of behavior health or healthcare billing and claims processes.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills with the ability to quickly learn EMR system and workflows.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines.

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
