Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, experienced, and nurturing Private Preschool Teacher for our 14-month-old son in a structured, in-home environment. This role goes beyond traditional childcare and focuses on early childhood education, developmental growth, and engaging daily learning activities.
The ideal candidate is warm, patient, highly organized, and passionate about Montessori-inspired or structured early learning, while still creating a fun, loving, and stimulating environment.
ResponsibilitiesDaily Care & Routine
- Provide attentive, hands-on care in a safe and nurturing environment
- Follow and maintain a structured daily routine (meals, naps, play, learning)
- Support transitions smoothly throughout the day
Early Learning & Development
- Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities
- Focus on:
- Fine motor skills
- Gross motor development
- Language development and early communication
- Sensory exploration
- Social-emotional growth
- Introduce foundational concepts through play (colors, shapes, animals, sounds, etc.)
Structured Activities
- Lead daily activities such as:
- Reading and storytelling
- Music and movement
- Sensory bins and hands-on play
- Montessori-style independent activities
- Outdoor play and exploration
- Rotate toys and activities to encourage engagement and development
Engagement & Environment
- Create a calm, clean, and organized learning space
- Encourage independence while providing guidance
- Limit overstimulation and maintain a balanced, structured day
Communication & Tracking
- Provide daily updates on:
- Activities completed
- Meals and snacks
- Nap times
- Developmental milestones
- Collaborate with parents on developmental goals and weekly focus areas
Lesson Planning Expectations
- Develop simple weekly themes or focus areas (ex: animals, colors, nature, community helpers)
- Prepare a mix of:
- Structured learning time
- Free play
- Sensory exploration
- Ensure activities are:
- Age-appropriate
- Engaging and interactive
- Focused on developmental milestones
- Bring new ideas and creativity to keep learning fresh and exciting
Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years experience with toddlers (12–24 months)
- Background in early childhood education, preschool teaching, or similar role preferred
- Familiarity with Montessori or structured learning approaches is a plus
- CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain)
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Strong communication skills
- Must be patient, engaging, and genuinely enjoy working with young children
