PRN Clinical Research Infusion Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

· The PRN Infusion Registered Nurse at Axiom Brain Health supports the conduct of clinical research studies by safely administering investigational medications and monitoring participants during and after treatment procedures.

· Works closely with the clinical research team to ensure protocol adherence, participant safety, and compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and applicable regulatory requirements.

· Primarily supports infusion and injection visits for clinical trials focused on neurodegenerative and neurologic diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease and related conditions.

· Helps ensure that study participants receive safe, high-quality care during medication administration and observation periods.

Key Responsibilities

· Review and maintain all training required to perform clinical trial work including but not limited to Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Human Subject Protection (HSP) and any study related requirements such as the protocol, investigator brochure/package insert, and pharmacy manual.

· Administer investigational medications according to study protocols and site procedures, including intravenous (IV) infusions and subcutaneous injections.

· Perform IV insertion and maintain IV access during infusion visits.

· Monitor participants during medication administration and required post-dose observation periods.

· Assess for and appropriately respond to infusion or injection reactions, adverse events (AE) and serious adverse events (SAEs) as outlined in the study protocol. Promptly notifying the Principal Investigator, research team, sponsor and regulatory authorities as applicable.

· Accurately document medication administration details including but not limited to dose, route, infusion start and stop times, and participant tolerance.

· Collaborate with the clinical research team to ensure participant safety and adherence to study protocol requirements.

· Assist with clinical procedures such as vital signs, ECGs, and blood draws when additional clinical support is needed.

· Communicate participant status and any safety concerns to the Principal Investigator and study team in a timely manner.

· Ensure all clinical procedures are performed in accordance with protocol requirements, site SOPs, and Good Clinical Practice guidelines.

· Support efficient clinic operations during infusion visits and maintain a professional and supportive environment for study participants and caregivers.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Strong peripheral IV-line placement and infusion therapy skills

· Ability to recognize and appropriately respond to infusion reactions or other clinical concerns

· Strong attention to detail and ability to document accurately in real time according to ALCOA-C/Good Documentation Practices (GDP)

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with participants, caregivers, and research staff

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical research environment

· Comfort working with older adults and individuals with cognitive impairment

Work Environment

· Outpatient clinical research setting supporting neurology trials

· Participants may include individuals with neurodegenerative conditions

· Infusion visits typically range from one to two hours with additional observation time depending on protocol requirements

Schedule

· PRN position with flexible scheduling based on study visit needs

· Up to approximately 20 hours per week

Minimum Qualifications

· Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida

· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing

· Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience

· Current BLS certification

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience administering infusion therapies or biologic medications

· Experience in a clinical research setting

· Bilingual – Spanish
