PRN Infusion Nurse

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate PRN Infusion Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this flexible, as-needed role, you will provide expert infusion therapy services to patients across various settings, including outpatient clinics. Your expertise will help improve patient outcomes through precise medication administration, patient assessment, and education. Responsibilities

• Administer intravenous (IV) infusions, medications, and therapies accurately following established protocols and aseptic techniques
• Familiarity with eCW and Zynos 800 F pump encouraged
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments prior to infusion procedures, including vital signs and medical history review
• Monitor patients during and after infusion treatments for adverse reactions or complications, responding swiftly to ensure safety
• Educate patients and their families about infusion procedures, medication effects, and post-treatment care instructions
• Maintain detailed and accurate medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner
• Follow infection control protocols and ensure sterile processing of infusion supplies and equipment
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care plans

Skills

• Proven experience with IV insertion, catheter care, and aseptic technique in various clinical settings such as hospital medicine or outpatient clinics
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems like eclinicalworks for documentation and order entry
• Strong assessment skills with the ability to recognize signs of adverse reactions or complications during infusion therapy
• Experience working with diverse patient populations including adults and geriatrics
• Critical care experience in ICU or emergency medicine environments is highly valued
• Ability to perform laboratory specimen collection/processing and understand laboratory results related to infusion therapy
• Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations including HIPAA compliance and ICD coding standards for accurate documentation

Note: this is a PRN position. It can be a great opportunity to supplement your income by working during your off time, provided your full-time role allows for moonlighting.

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
