PRN Pharmacy Technician (Clinical Research)

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated PRN (as-needed) Pharmacy Technician specializing in Clinical Research to join our dynamic healthcare team. As a vital member of the research pharmacy team, you will support medication preparation, patient interactions, and ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing, dispensing, and managing medications for clinical research studies, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
  • Support medication administration processes, including IV infusions and other specialized delivery methods, in accordance with study protocols.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to facilitate patient intake, medication reconciliation, and proper documentation of all procedures.
  • Maintain accurate inventory control of study medications, including LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy supplies, ensuring proper storage and handling.
  • Apply critical care experience to support patients in acute care settings, providing timely medication support and patient service.
  • Follow strict medical terminology guidelines to document procedures accurately within electronic health records and research databases.
  • Uphold hospital standards by practicing aseptic techniques during medication preparation and infusion processes, ensuring patient safety at all times.

Qualifications

  • Proven pharmacy technician experience with a focus on hospital or acute care environments.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and IV infusion techniques.
  • Prior experience working in LTC pharmacy or critical care settings is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent patient service and support patient care activities effectively.
  • Familiarity with aseptic technique procedures and medication safety protocols.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for intake processes and inventory management.
