The Employee Health Nurse will be responsible for the Employee Health Program. Responsibilities include immunization programs for employers, all aspects of employee worker’s compensation and education, follow up and prevention of disease that effect the employee population. Evaluates and assists in the evaluation of health services for employees within the hospital system. Establishes a system of records and reports. Provides for health counseling and education on an individual or group basis. Works in conjunction with HCA and Insurance provider in the following and case management of Worker’s Compensation cases. Plans with management and appointed medical director(s) the scope and objectives of employee health services within the hospital. Prepares and maintains employee health policies and procedures. Develops procedures for emergency and follow up care for on the job injuries and/or illnesses. Sits on hospital committees as designated. Evaluates injuries/exposures acquired in the hospital, communicates/coordinates outcome with managers and staff. Guides development and monitors effectiveness of program standards. Coordinates all activities related to occupational health and safety. Implements programs to ensure the hospitals adherence to OSHA, JCAHO, state and local government standards. Conducts activity to identify incidence and trends. Serves as an education/resource for Employee Health issues. Assists the Director with special projects as required.
At least 5 years clinical nursing in an acute setting
At least 2-3 years in Occupational or Employee Health or Kansas worker’s compensation
